摘要：

Being an established playwright,Bernard Shaw is also famous for his flippant denunciations of Shakespeare as a literary saint.Their works are often found to bear similarities to some degree.This article illuminates the androgynous women in two plays seem to have nothing in common,Man and Superman by Shaw and Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare.It is argued that these two protagonists,Juliet and Ann Whitefield,are endowed with androgynous mind by taking initiative in marriage while remaining femininity as well.
