摘要：

The ownership of the English language has always been a hot issue in the field of language studies.With the emergence of world Englishes,the position of British English and American English has been challenged.A few models have been examined to illustrate the relationship among British English,American English and world Englishes.And finally,the nature of English as an international Eng lish is also discussed.
