A measurement of the ~9Be(n,2n)cross section in the neutron energy region from2.8～5.O MeV and 14.0～17.5 MeV was caried out at the beginning of 1970s at theInstitute of Atomic Energy,Beijing.It was completed at the IAE 2.5 MV Van deGraaff for neutron energies from 3.05～5.0 MeV and 15.6～17.5 MeV,and at theIAE 100 kV Cockcroft-Walton for neutron energies 2.8,2.88 and 14.0 MeV.The T(d,n)and D(d,n)reactions were used to produce neutrons.A specially designed 4π-moder-ated detector(42 cm in diameter and 74 cm long)was used to detect neutrons.The en-
