This special issue of JIPB highlights several aspects of plant cell polarity.Cell polarity is important for PIN FORMED(PIN)efflux carrier-driven polartransport of the plant hormone auxin.Coordinated tissuespecific PIN orientations result in auxin minimum formation during Arabidopsis fruit development(Right top;Grieneisen et al.,pp.847-863).In plant leaves,polar localization of PIN1 in files of vascular cells suggests auxin transport to-
