The unsteady boundary layer over an impulsively started rotating disk isstudied,a complete solution describing the smooth transition from vortex diffusionat ωt=0 to Kármán’s steady solution is obtained by series expansion and itsnumerical continuation. The angle of body streamlines,together withexperimental values, are given as the function of time t as well as the momentcoefficient Cand on-coming velocity w(∞).
