摘要
The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) will inject more than 400 million yuan (about $48 million) over the next five years into improving the performance of its Beijing Electron-Positron Collider (BEPC) at the CAS Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP). This was announced by Prof. Zhang Chuang, deputy director of IHEP, at the Second Asian Particle Accelerator Conference held in Beijing from September 17 to 21. As a national flagship engineering project for basic research and high-tech development, BEPC started its first successful operation in October, 1988. It was hailed as
