The coordination behavior of alanine with rare earth elements in solution, the stability constants, the formation and characterization of soild complexes have been reported in literature including all the lanthanide elements except Pm. The salts of the rare earth being investigated are chloride, bromide, iodide and perchlorate. The complexes are of the type 1:3
