摘要
Since more and more study is focusing on EFL and ESL teaching, new concepts and theories borrowed from other related fields come out. Rising in the 20th century, the conception of motivation comes from the sociocultural perspective of Vygotsky and has influential effect on English language teaching all over the world. This paper gives an overview on motivation and activity theory which are globally recognized in recent years.
