Teacher's Role in Intercultural Language Education

Internationalization and globalization bring encounter of different languages and cultures.International and domestic researchers have been discussing the necessity of developing language learner’s intercultural competence,due to the limitation of traditional communicative language education(Corbett,2003).This paper intends to illustrate the significance of teacher’s role in developing intercultural competence.The author defines language teacher as active information provider,guide and intercultural learner.
