摘要
One of the important properties of silicic acid is its tendency of polymerization. Therefore, its solution, when dilute, is always colloidal in property, and when of sufficient concentration, sets into a gel. There are many factors which influence the rate of polymerization of silicic acid, but the most important and characteristic is the acidity of the solution. The relation between the rate of polymerization of silicic acid and the acidity of the solution has been studied by many investigators, but most of them limited their studies within narrow pH
