<正> The retention index in micellar clectrokinetic capillary chromalography (MECC) has been analy/ed by the quantitative-structure retention relationship. A good linear relationship between the retention index in the SDS surfactant MHCC and the logP and logkw, values has been obtained; however, there is no such a linear relationship of retention index in the CIAB, DTAB surfactant MI.C'C versus logP and logkw values I he retention index in the culionic and anionic surfactant MFCC am be well correlated with the solvatochromic parameters of solutes. The molecular si/e and hydrogen bond interaction of solutes .make the most important contributions lo the retention index I he former has almost no relation with the surfactant property, and the latter depends on the properly of the surfactant used. Different surfactant MECCs offer different seleclivities for the separation of polar compounds
