LAST year I decided to pack up my things and move into a retirement community. Many people asked me why I would want to do that, rather than staying in my own home or living with my kids as most people in their late years do.One of the main reasons was that I had already had some friends living in these types of places, and they always spoke highly of the experience. One friend said how glad they were to leave behind the tiring housework.Another couple I know often brag about the attentive services, including the daily health checks they get,and the reasonable prices at their care center. My two sisters find they can now walk without the help of crutches thanks to the spa therapies they receive at their retirement home, which also runs a hospice that provides full end-of-life care for those in need.
