<正> Between May 1973 and May 1983 we treated operatively 30 patients in our hospitals for ulnar nerve palsy at the elbow. Of these, 23 were due to compression of the nerve by a fibrous band bridging 2 heads of the flexor carpi ulnaris. CLINICAL DATA Of the 23 patients, 21 were male and 2 female, aged 14-73 years, averaging 45. All the patients had symptoms and signs of ulnar neuritis for 1 month to 3 years, 14 on the left elbow and 9 on the right. The neuropathy was primary in 8 and secondary to injury or disease in 15 (injury in 10, osteoarthritis in 2, congenital valgus deformity in 1, and ganglion in 2). All were treated surgically, 19 by anterior transposition of the ulnar nerve to the flexor surface of the joint, and 4 by simple excision of the band for neurolysis. They were followed up for 3 months to 8 years.
