Reliable location estimation in wireless sensor network is essential and fundamental. The localization performance can be degraded considerably due to the existence of non-line-of-sight (NLOS) channel conditions between the sensor nodes. In this paper, a new algorithm is proposed based on analysis of existing NLOS error mitigation techniques. The new method first applies the Particle Swarm Optimizati- on (PSO) for optimizing the constrained total least squares (CLS). Then a low complexity algorithm based on Rwgh is used. The proposed method needs less computation amount than conventional residual weighting algorithm. Taking advantage of the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO)-based constrained total least-squares estimator, we are able to reduce the RMSE of the localization estimate by rejecting the measurements with large errors. Simulation results show that our estimator has robust performance. © 2012 Binary Information Press.
