摘要
Because of the increasing prevalence of food allergies, discovering new management strategies has been of great interest. Strict avoidance of a food allergen with anaphylaxis precautions continues to form the foundation of management for many. However, novel strategies are becoming more widespread as further evidence supporting their use accumulates. FDA-approved products such as Palforzia and Xolair have changed the food allergy management landscape, and emerging therapies such as other biologics, early life OIT, SLIT, and EPIT may shape future treatment. Other modalities such as probiotics and TCM have shown promising preliminary data, but further robust trials are required to confirm efficacy and safety. Questions remain, including long-term treatment goals, predictors of treatment response, and the use of adjunctive therapies. The food allergy therapeutic landscape has grown dramatically in recent years; ongoing and future investigative research will continue to expand treatment options to improve the physical and mental health as well as quality of life for those living with food allergy.
