摘要
Effects of fuel physical and chemical properties on low temperature combustion (LTC) mechanism and regulated/unregulated emissions were studied on a diesel engine. Fuels were prepared by adding the blend with 20% n-heptane, PRF50, iso-octane and 40% n-heptane by volume into the diesel fuel. Results show that cetane number has large effect on the ignition delay at higher EGR rate. With the decrease of cetane number, the soot emissions are decreased. Changes in fuel physical and chemical properties have little effect on combustion and soot emissions at 20% blending ratio. At higher blending ratio (40% by volume), soot emisions can further be decreased. Under LTC conditions, THC emissions increase where methane is the main compostion of THC and accounts 60% in the total HC. NO2, has little effect on NOx emissions control. At 20% blending ratio, fuel properties has small effect on THC, other unregulated HC, CO and NOx emissions. At 40% blending ratio, aromatic emission is decreased but NOx and NO2 emissions are increased.
