The hypereutectic AlSi27 alloy was prepared by spray-formed process. The microstructure and thermal expansion behavior between room temperature and 500 ℃ of hypereutectic AlSi27 alloy were investigated. The results show that the primary Si phases are uniform distribution in the spray-formed AlSi27 alloy, and the primary Si phase grows form fine spherical particle to bulky spherical particle or strip-like phase with the increase of aging temperature. The coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) between room temperature and 100 ℃ of the AlSi27 alloy increases gradually with the increase of aging temperature. On the other hand, the CTE at different cycling temperature is almost linearly increased with the increase of temperature, and agreed well with the Kerner model. © 2016, Central South University of Technology.
