Change in care dependency and quality of home care nursing assessment levels following home health services in patients receiving home health care

Home health services are crucial for promoting independence since they provide high-quality care in the comfort of the patient's own home. The aim of this research is to assess how care dependence and the quality of home care nursing have changed after patients at a state hospital in Tu<euro>rkiye's home health services unit received home health services. This descriptive correlational study included 97 home care patients and their caregivers. The "Nursing Care Dependency Scale" scores of patients who received nursing care once (45.47+ 16.70) and three or more sessions (48.71+14.62) increased significantly (z=-6.342, p < 0.001). A higher score indicates greater independence in meeting care needs. After receiving three or more nursing care sessions, caregivers' "Home Care Nursing Quality Scale" assessment scores (53.49+12.02) significantly increased (z=6.747, p < 0.001). After receiving home health services, individuals with moderate care dependency were significantly more independent, according to the study's findings. (c) 2025 Elsevier Inc.
