摘要
In this paper, parametric design approach of bulbous bow surface is studied synthetically. Parametric modelling of longitudinal characteristic curves and cross-section curves of the bulbous bow surface is carried out and can be regarded as a constrained optimization problem, the objective function expresses the smoothness of the curve, while the set of form parameters composes constraint conditions, and design variables are coordinate components of control points on the curve. An improved surface lofting method, that the smooth of each longitudinal curve is considered in the course of modeling, is utilized, so that the resultant surface interpolating all cross-section curves on the bulbous bow surface has satisfactory smoothness. © 2015, Editorial Office of Ship Building of China.
