The IEEE Control Systems Society (CSS) Technical Committee on Distributed Parameter Systems (TC-DPS) aims at fostering exchange, collaboration, and dissemination of new results among researchers from both the control-system theory and control-engineering communities who work on modeling, analysis, and control of distributed parameter systems. The scientific activities of TC-DPS are concerned with the system-theoretic properties and control of infinite-dimensional dynamical systems, which are the subject of long-lasting research activities from both the control-system theory and control-engineering communities. The activities proposed in the TC cover a wide theoretical spectrum, ranging from functional analysis, to algebra, operator theory, and numerical analysis. TC-DPS has seen increasing activity in the last ten years, including regularly organizing invited sessions in control-oriented conferences.
