摘要
center dot Patients with CKD have a 2-to 4-fold increase in the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD; defined as coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and sudden cardiac death). center dot Patients with CKD have an increased burden of CVD which is augmented by the presence of comorbidities including hypertension, obesity, dyslipidemia, and type 2 diabetes mellitus. center dot Plant-based diets may limit cardiovascular complications in CKM syndrome through weight loss, enhancing glucose control, lowering blood pressure, and promoting a more favorable gut microbiota composition. center dot The quality and general pattern of a plant-based diet is more important than ensuring the intake of specific nutrients.
