摘要
University websites serve as a portal for efficiently offering current knowledge and resources to students, professors, academic administrators, and other users. This study aimed to assess the general use of Noakhali Science and Technology University website as well as the factors that affect students’ perceptions regarding the usability of that website. A quantitative online survey was conducted among the students of the university using a convenience sampling technique and 250 responses were retrieved. Collected data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel, IBM SPSS and R software. The study found out that though most participants were using the website for 1–3 years, their frequency of visiting it was occasional. The main purpose of visiting the website was to obtain information about academic programs and faculty members. Slow page load time and trouble in finding the required information were the most frequent challenges while retrieving information from the website. The Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) extracted three factors, user-friendliness, satisfaction, and errors that affected students’ perceptions. The findings also revealed that the overall mean score of the website’s usability rated by the students was 2.87 indicating that the website was somewhat usable. © 2025 The Author(s).
