摘要
A series of xylan/multi-walled carbon nanotube composite hydrogel with different content of modified carbon nanotubes were synthesized via semi-interpenetrating network method. The morphologies and compositions of the hydrogels were analyzed by FT-IR and SEM. The effect of carbon nanotubes content on microstructure and mechanical properties of the hydrogels was studied, and the pH sensitivity of the hydrogel was investigated. Methylene blue was used for studying adsorption property of the hydrogels. The results show that the compressive performance of the hydrogel increases with an increase in the content of modified carbon nanotubes; the swelling ratio of the hydrogel increases first and then decreases with an increase in the content of modified carbon nanotubes, but an increase of the dosage of cross-linking agent leads to a decrease in swelling ratio. The addition of modified carbon nanotubes improves the pH sensitivity, uniformity of pore size, and adsorption performance of the prepared hydrogel. This study indicates that xylan/multi-walled carbon nanotubes composite hydrogel is an excellent cationic adsorbent. © 2016, Editorial Board of Polymer Materials Science & Engineering.
