Reverse-time migration based on generalized synthesis of seismic data in frequency-space domain

In order to reduce the computational cost of migration imaging method, we transformed common shot gathers data and its source into synthetic gathers and synthetic source by using generalized seismic data synthesis theory. The results show that given the advantage of frequency-space domain in numerical calculation relative to the time-space domain, reverse-time migration based on generalized seismic data synthesis in the frequency space domain can greatly improve the computational efficiency, computational efficiency can be improved 1.5 to 3 times, and the imaging results are equivalent to the conventional reverse-time migration in frequency-space domain. Numerical experiment results also show that the imaging results of plane wave gathers reverse-time migration don't have random cross-talk, are better than random synthetic data reverse-time migration. ©, 2015, Zhejiang University.
