摘要
This paper presents a design and analysis of a modified compass-cross slot etched on a low-profile single-cladded FR4 substrate. The proposed Frequency Selective Surface is designed to function as a bandstop filter in the X-band and a bandpass filter in the Ku-band. The designed FSS achieves transmission zeros at 8.2-12.2 GHz and transmission poles at 13.6-18.8 GHz. The unit cell dimension of the FSS is 0.2 lambda(0) x 0.2 lambda(0), providing 50 degrees angular stability and 90 degrees polarization insensitivity performance for both TE and TM modes. Theoretical analysis is validated through Equivalent Circuit Modelling (ECM) and simulations using Ansys HFSS software. Thus, the X-band is shielded, and the Ku-band is passed through, improving satellite communication performance.
