摘要
The expansion of digital technologies has profoundly reshaped everyday life, particularly in the fields of education and communication. In Latin America, these shifts have driven the development of theoretical and practical tools in these areas of knowledge, designed to address change from local and regional perspectives. This approach embraces a dialogical view of educational processes-both formal and informal-emphasizing the active role of learners and elevating the perspectives of children, youth, and popular culture as crosscutting categories. Serving as an introduction to this special issue, this article explores the connections between communication and education in the region, arguing that the concept of mediation remains central. Mediation provides a vital framework for analyzing the interactions between children, youth, families, and technologies in the context of connected learning processes.
