On the microstructure evolution under continuous dynamic recrystallization

摘要
The development of continuous dynamic recrystallization (CDRX) was clarified using the results of an equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) of a 1421 Al alloy at 673 K. The new CDRX grains quickly appeared near the original grain boundaries and the microshear bands followed by the CDRX expansion until complete filling the sample. The changes in average grain size, grain boundary misorientation, and high-angle boundary (HAB) fraction could be expressed by functions of strain on the base of modified Jonson-Mehl-Avrami-Kolmogorov (JMAK) equation.
