摘要
This research explored the psychometric properties of the Triarchic Model of Grit Scale, a measure that assesses individual differences in perseverance of effort, consistency of interests, and adaptability to situations among undergraduate students in Malaysia. There were 231 Malaysian undergraduate students who participated in this study. Results showed that the scores from the hypothesized three-factor model of grit were valid. However, there was mixed evidence regarding the invariance of this measure across gender. Except for consistency of interests, all dimensions of the TMG had acceptable internal consistency coefficients. In terms of criterion-related validity, all dimensions had positive correlations with positive emotions. Further, only perseverance and consistency dimensions had negative associations with negative emotions. Practical implications of the findings are discussed.
