Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease: a differential for fevers and lymphadenopathy

摘要：

A woman in her early 20s with no significant medical history presented with tender cervical lymphadenopathy, swinging feverish episodes up to 39.6 degrees C, a widespread maculopapular rash and polyarthralgia. She was extensively investigated as an inpatient with multiple imaging studies and blood tests to encompass the potential diagnosis of infection, malignancy or autoimmune disorders. She was discharged after undergoing an excisional cervical lymph node biopsy, which was later reported as consistent with the diagnosis of Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease.
