摘要
Introduction: This paper gives an account of the experience of a psychoeducational workshop on healthy sexuality given to students from a public secondary school in the City of Morelia, Michoac & aacute;n, Mexico, with the objective of provide information on the exercise of responsible and healthy sexuality, as well as identifying the concerns or misconceptions and clarify doubts about this topic. The workshop arises as a proposal to help reduce the rate of unwanted pregnancy and contagion of sexually transmitted infections among teenagers, derived from the lack of information and awareness about healthy sexuality. Objective: To analyze the experience of the students who participated in the workshop. Method applied is qualitative, based on action research and the data analysis is carried out from a phenomenological perspective. The intervention strategy used is the psychoeducational workshop, since it promotes the teenager participation and has been shown to be a form of work that promotes awareness, especially on issues that are not easily treated. Results confirm the lack of knowledge regarding healthy sexuality practices, but also show some changes in the concepts of gender, roles and sexual diversity. Conclusions, the need for this type of workshop is emphasized, since teenagers show interest in participating and concern to know more about the topic; however, they recognize that it is not easy to talk about it in their family, and that the information provided within of school programs is insufficient.
