摘要
In the present investigation, palm biodiesel blends (B25, B50, B75 and B100) is employed as a fuel to drive a diesel engine at constant speed of 1500 rpm at varied load (zero to maximum in 20% increment) and compression ratio (16.5, 17.5 and 18.5) to access its performance and emission attributes and the optimum fuel/blend and optimum CR is suggested. The results revealed that the blend B25 performed better in performance than other blends. The emission attributes of optimum fuel are found better when compared with conventional fuel. At maximum load and at CR 18.5 the optimum blend resulted in BSFC of 0.252 kg/kW-hr, BTHE of 31.12%, EGT of 3010C, SD of 48.61 HSU, CO emission of 0.08%, HC emission of 53 ppm and NOX emission of 1027 ppm. © 2024.
