摘要
This paper proposes a triband defective ground structure (DGS)-based MIMO antenna for 2.4 GHz Bluetooth, 3.5 GHz worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX), and 5.2 GHz wireless local networks (WLAN) applications. A half-rectangle microstrip patch antenna cut with an asymmetric feed line is used in the proposed MIMO design. Isolation is improved by 7 dB, and gain is increased by 2 dB when inner and outer ring circles are used as a DGS structure. The proposed antenna acquired a diversity gain (DG) of 9.94 dB and an envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) of 0.01 magnitudes. Moreover, this MIMO antenna covers bandwidths of 2.3 GHz–2.5 GHz, 3.4 GHz–3.8 GHz, and 5.2 GHz–5.8 GHz. The antenna’s overall dimensions are 60 mm x 50 mm x 1.6 mm. The proposed antenna was designed, simulated, and measured using CSTMW studio, Schwarz ZVL vector network analyzer, and tested in an anechoic chamber. © 2024 by Begell House, Inc.
