摘要
This study explored the lived experiences of Filipino immigrant occupational therapists in maintaining occupational balance (OB) during immigration and professional adaptation in the United States. Using a descriptive phenomenological approach and thematic analysis, three themes emerged: applying professional insights to personal adaptation, embracing discomfort as a catalyst for growth and fulfillment, and establishing routines to support balance and stability. Findings highlight both culturally rooted values, such as bayanihan, and universally adaptive strategies that support OB and mental health. The study contributes to understanding how occupational therapists navigate transitions, and informs culturally responsive, occupation-based interventions for immigrant practitioners and clients alike.
