Rural revitalization and urban-rural income gap: A perspective from land transfer scale

This paper investigates the impact of rural revitalization on the urban-rural income gap using provincial-level data, while further examining the mediating role of land transfer and the moderating effect of fiscal support. Specifically, rural revitalization contributes to the expansion of land transfer scale, which in turn helps narrow the income gap. As fiscal support intensifies, rural revitalization initiatives gain stronger financial backing, facilitating more effective implementation and leading to further reduction in income disparity. Finally, a heterogeneity analysis reveals that the effects of rural revitalization vary across different regional contexts.
