摘要：

We presenta review of the current knowledge in relation to portal vein thrombosis (DVT), emphasizing the etiology and the main known risk factors, the clinical manifestations, the advances in the diagnosis that have improved its accuracy without the need to perform invasive studies and and finally, we discuss treatment options depending on whether the patient has cirrhosis.
