School library reading: a critical analysis of reading practices in Andalusian secondary schools

摘要
This study analyses the articles published between 2016-2023 in the Virtual Journal of School Libraries, coordinated by the Consejer & iacute;a de Desarrollo Educativo y Formaci & oacute;n Profesional de la Junta de Andaluc & iacute;a (Department of Educational Development and Vocational Training of the Junta de Andaluc & iacute;a). The aim is to study what reading practices are carried out from the school library in public centres of secondary education, in order to define and identify what criteria or common patterns allow them to be identified as exemplary and replicable among the youngest. The methodology, framed in the qualitative paradigm, approaches the method of thematic analysis for the treatment of the information, based on the familiarization with the data, the search of themes or patterns, the revision and the presentation of the results. In the content review, 5 common patterns were found: reading for pleasure and as a development of creativity, reading to inquire and learn to learn, reading as a space for meeting and plurality of thought, reading as a collaborative action, and reading and the networked society. The analysis of the results has served as a reference to propose, in the form of a decalogue, some lines of action for good reading practices among young people.
