Study of n-heptane oxidation by using a high-pressure jet stirred reactor at 100 atm

n-Heptane oxidations at 10 and 100 atm and over a temperature range of 500-900 K were studied at both fuel lean and rich conditions by using a supercritical-pressure jet stirred reactor (SP-JSR). The experiment at 10 atm showed that the SP-JSR could capture the low-pressure oxidation characteristics very well against the literature model. At 100 atm, a weaker NTC behavior was observed and the intermediate temperature oxidation was shifted to lower temperatures in experiments. The existing model under-predicted the NTC behavior slightly, which corresponded to our previous observations on n-butane and propane oxidations at 100 atm.
