摘要
The regulations developed in the aviation industry are used to ensure that previous mistakes that caused an aircraft accident are not repeated. Recently it has been observed that most entry-level engineers do not have an adequate level of understanding of aviation regulations and airworthiness as these topics are not covered sufficiently in undergraduate aerospace engineering programs. Northrop Grumman Corporation and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University created a project to improve the student exposure to these topics. Presentations that are customized to specific undergraduate courses were developed to introduce students to regulations and improve their understanding of them. This supplemental material familiarizes students with these regulations before they enter industry. Along with this project, education and training standards set by the Aerospace Industries Association show that the teaching of regulations is becoming an increasingly vital part of aerospace engineering education.
