摘要
This paper presents an on-board charger for electric vehicle applications which consists of two sections. The first section consists of a boost power factor correction converter using totem pole configuration and the second section consists of a phase-shifted single phase converter. The bridgeless totem pole converter functions in continuous conduction mode within the on-board charger. The paper focuses on the control strategy employed in the first stage of the charger which helps to sustain the power factor. This in turn limits the harmonic distortion through the active shaping of the line current. The prototype developed charges a 12 V, 7 Ah lead acid battery. To lower the overall rating of the system, a 24 V AC is supplied to the entire charging system. An auto-cut-off system has been implemented to monitor the charging levels and switching of the system.
