Comprehensive analysis of the diversity and prevalence of plant-parasitic nematodes associated with grapevine cultivars in Kashmir, India

摘要
This study surveyed three grapevine cultivars in Kashmir, India, to assess the diversity, prevalence and abundance of plant-parasitic nematodes (PPNs), providing essential insights into their assemblages. A systematic survey was conducted across three grape-producing districts (Baramulla, Ganderbal and Kulgam) during 2021-2022. A total of 336 composite soil samples were collected from vineyards, and nematodes were meticulously analyzed. Thirteen genera of PPNs were identified, with Helicotylenchus, Quinisulcius, Tylenchorhynchus, Tylenchus, Rotylenchus and Pratylenchus, being the most prevalent (>75%). Significant variations in nematode prevalence and abundance were observed across grapevine cultivars, seasonal dynamics and district locations. This study provides crucial baseline data for future research on the ecology and management of PPNs in Kashmir's vineyards.
