摘要
Myocardial tissue characterization is an important component of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging for pediatric congenital heart disease. However, there exist particular challenges to obtain accurate and reliable data for T1 mapping of the morphologic right ventricle (RV). These challenges are often further complicated in the pediatric patient population due to additional hurdles, such as small patient size and faster heart rates. This manuscript reviews the pathogenesis and consequences of RV fibrosis in congenital heart disease, examines current literature on pediatric RV T1 data, and explores the difficulties facing RV T1 mapping along with technical developments that may potentially overcome them.
