摘要
center dot Patient reported outcome measurement information system (PROMIS) scores are being increasingly used to monitor outcomes in orthopedic trauma patients. center dot Computer adaptive tests use item-response theory to generate reliable and sensitive patientspecific patient reported outcome measures, which require fewer questions, thereby reducing respondent fatigue. center dot In orthopedic trauma, PROMIS scores have shown comparability to legacy measures with limited ceiling and floor effects. center dot Collecting PROMIS scores can be challenging in the orthopedic trauma patient population due to a high-rate of patients lost to follow-up and remote collection not being as successful as inperson survey administration. center dot Accumulating large datasets can help construct injury-specific normal recovery curves, which can help with tracking patient's progress and prompt early investigations in patients deviating from the norm.
