摘要
After the fault current limiter(FCL) is connected to the power grid, it can effectively solve the problem of excessive short-circuit current in the power system. However, its dynamic characteristics, stray capacitance and other parameters are coupled with the power grid parameters, which may have an impact on the overvoltage of the system to some extent. This article first introduces the classification and causes of system overvoltage, as well as its harm to different power equipment, clarifying the harmfulness of overvoltage. Secondly, the effects of current limiters on operating overvoltage, power frequency overvoltage, and their own overvoltage were elaborated. Research has shown that current limiters have both positive and negative effects on various overvoltages. Finally, preliminary suppression measures were discussed for the overvoltage caused by the current limiter, such as parallel capacitors at both ends of the current limiter and optimizing its parameters.
