Phosphorus recovery technology from municipal wastewater as struvite. Implementation of circular economy principles in Polish wastewater treatment plants

摘要
The process of struvite crystn. (MgNH4PO4<middle dot>6H(2)O) according to the Ostara Pearl (R)-WASSTRIP (R) technology launched in the sewage treatment plant in Cielcza near Jarocin was discussed. The chem. and phase compn. of the product was analyzed using anal. techniques such as Xray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence, ICP-OES spectroscopy and thermal anal. Granulated struvite contained 2% by mass of N, 24% by mass of P2O5 (all soluble in neutral ammonium citrate) and 12% by mass of MgO. High efficiency of P recovery was confirmed. The final product, registered as Fosforavit, meets European quality stands.
