Synthesis, structural, spectral, thermal, and nonlinear optical properties study of curcumin based organic single crystal:1-(4-chlorobenzoyl)-3,5-bis ((E)-2,4,5-trimethoxybenzylidene) piperidin-4-one

摘要
Considering the demand by materials Scientists for applications in various fields, new organic crystals, 1-(4chlorobenzoyl)-3, 5-bis ((E)-2, 4, 5-trimethoxybenzylidene) piperidine-4-one (CTMBP) has been synthesized via Claisen-Schmidt and Schotten-Baumann condensation reaction methods. Single crystals of diffraction quality have been harvested using a slow evaporation technique. The diffraction pattern of CTMBP was obtained by utilizing the single-crystal X-ray diffraction method (SCXRD) and shows that the material is centrosymmetric with a triclinic crystal system. The crystal packing of the compound is influenced by C-H...O interactions, which have also been validated by short contacts in Hirshfeld surfaces analysis. Presence of various types of hydrogen and carbon atoms in the compound have been investigated using proton and carbon NMR spectra. The molecular vibrations have been analyzed via, FT-IR,and FT-Raman spectra. Transmittance graph of UV-Vis. analysis depicits that the compound is transparent in visible region, hence the material can be untilized in optical applications. The PL spectra shows emission peak around 550nm. Third harmonic optical and thermal investigations have also been performed for the title material using Z-scan, and TG/ DTA studies. The results shows that the optimum range of third-order non-linear optical properties and kinetic parameters. Hence the title material can be utilized effectively in optical applications including advanced imaging, sensing, therapeutic, etc.
