摘要
This study classified profiles of homework approaches involving eighth graders in China, regarding the likely combinations of surface and deep approaches to homework. Latent profile analysis (LPA) identified five distinct homework approach profiles: High Deep/Low Surface, Low Deep/Low Surface, Moderate Deep/Moderate Surface, Medium-Low Deep/High Surface, and Medium-High Deep/Very High Surface. Additionally, we found gender differences in profile membership. Furthermore, profile membership predicted homework completion and performance, with a medium effect size. These results highlight the importance of understanding homework approach profiles to enhance homework completion and student achievement.
