摘要
This research aims to analyze the possibility of joining Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) and DP500 steel using a two-component epoxy adhesive. These two materials are representatives of a multi-material structure. In this paper, an overview of previous research in the area of adhesive joining of these materials will be given. Also, for the research, 1,0 mm thick CFRP and 1.5 mm thick DP500 steel were used. The adhesive that is used to bond previous materials is two-component epoxy adhesive LOCTITE (R) EA 9466. The obtained failure load was 11633,5 N with a displacement of 3,48 mm and the failure energy was 20,1 J. The mixed failure mode (cohesive (COH) and stock-break failure (SB), by the adhesive joint of DP500 steel and CFRP, was observed. The general conclusion is that CFRP and DP steel can be successfully joined using adhesives. Also, this research aims to show the possibilities of applying the adhesive and Resistance element welding (REW) joint together (hybrid joint) to improve the mechanical properties of the joint.
