Assessing the impact of environmental satisfaction on the Quality of Life of elderly residents in a rural village of northern Thailand

This study examines the impact of environmental satisfaction on the Quality of Life (QoL) of elderly residents (aged 60 and above) in Baan Pong Nuea, a rural village in northern Thailand. A mixed-methods approach was used, incorporating 144 surveys and in-depth interviews with all participants, employing the WHOQOL-OLD framework to assess physical health, psychological well-being, social relationships, and environmental satisfaction. Findings highlight the significance of green spaces, infrastructure quality, and community engagement in shaping QoL. The study provides insights for rural community planners, advocating for age-friendly environments, improved accessibility, and sustainable rural development policies.
