摘要
The present study examined the mediating role of the perception of the university environment in the relationship between minority status stress and mental health among 336 racially minoritized college students. Minority status stress was found to be a significant negative predictor of mental health. The results from the mediation analysis indicated that the negative relationship between minority status stress and mental health was partially mediated by the perceptions of the university environment. Findings suggest that perceptions of the university environment are one of the pathways through which minority status stress may result in lower levels of psychological well-being among racially minoritized college students. Higher education and counseling implications for minoritized college students are discussed.
