摘要
This study aims to investigate research trends in the area of indigenous tourism, based on scientific literature published between 2002 and 2024. A total of 438 published documents were methodically extracted from the Scopus database and bibliometrically examined. The current study uses bibliometric techniques to analyze and visualize the indigenous tourism research trends. The process of data analysis included bibliometric indicators, namely annual scientific production, leading journals, most prolific scholars, countries, institutions, most impactful articles, co-citation, and authors' keywords to portray the overall pattern and structure of indigenous tourism research. Additionally, this research helps to understand the knowledge structure and thematic evolution of the underlying research field. The results suggest that the research trends related to indigenous tourism have significantly increased and are dominated by a few authors and countries. The study also offers valuable insights into indigenous tourism research for theoretical and practical advancements in future research.
